Delilah Dallas finally opens in the Design District on February 3. Two more Design District arrivals fill in the middle of the price map. Alara Modern Mediterranean, a Design District spot from Turkish-American chef Onur Akan, is expected to open very soon. AM/FM is now serving, and Night Rooster is a new modern Chinese fine dining restaurant in Dallas' Design District from the team behind The Saint. The Park Cities have quietly become the second beneficiary of Dallas's expansion appetite. This Richardson-based Mexican concept is opening its second location in Dallas' Snider Plaza on June 10. A steakhouse followed. Joseph Palladino, who helped run Dallas' Nick & Sam's and co-founded Coal Vines, is opening a new steakhouse at Preston Royal this spring, as first reported by the Dallas Morning News. The Knox and West Village Kept Pace

That excitement is now spreading southwards, with chef Wyl Lima's dual openings on Jefferson Boulevard and a future taproom for Smittox Brewing near the Dallas Zoo.
The recent Bishop Arts additions worth planning around: ˈLəkē (pronounced lucky) Gin Bar offers gin-based cocktails and gluten-free pastries, with plans to bring gin-making classes to the neighborhood. The distillery/tasting room/gin school is the first of its kind in Texas. Sportsbook took over the former Krio space with a sports-bar concept from the same owners. Pillar Bistro is the fine-dining anchor for the block. Emporium Pies and The Wild Detectives still hold the corner they have always held.
Deep Ellum in August is quieter than the spring festival months and better for it. Club Dada and Trees still book the neighborhood's most watchable weeknight lineups, and Deep Ellum Art Company keeps a rolling calendar worth checking rather than assuming.
